Request for Proposals - Farmland for Lease
The Bass Lake Conservancy District desires to lease approximately 120 tillable acres of farmland with a location legally described as: The NE ¼ of Section 11, Twp 32 N, Range 2, California Township, Starke County, Indiana. The lease will include the use of Zimmatic 7-span GPS Corner irrigation equipment located on the property installed in 2017.
Proposals will be considered for a term not exceeding 6 years. Proposals must include proposed per-acre cash rent, information relating to the crops intended to be planted, insecticides/chemicals planned to be used, and background information as to the prior farming experience of the applicant. No one factor will be determinative, and all factors will be considered in the evaluation of each proposal. Please note that this lease will not be open to subleasing.
No proposal may be accepted from any person who is ineligible under IC 36-1-11-16 for owing delinquent taxes, special assessments, penalties, interest, or costs directly attributable to a prior tax sale on a tract of real property listed under IC 6-1.1-24-1. Any proposal submitted by a trust (as defined in IC 30-4-1-1(a)) must identify each beneficiary of the trust and each settlor empowered to revoke or modify the trust.
No payment or other evidence of financial responsibility shall be required with the submission of any proposal.
The District will cover the costs of insurance and general upkeep/maintenance of the irrigation system, except minor items normally handled by the tenant. Notwithstanding, the District will consider proposals that include the upkeep/maintenance of the irrigation system.
All proposals must be received no later than 12:00 p.m. on October 11, 2024. Proposals will be accepted at the offices of the Bass Lake Conservancy District, 4450 East 450 South, Knox, IN 46354.
